Transportation Options & Directions

DO NOT TAKE THE PUBLIC BUS!!!!
You may be able to get to Northside, but there are NO buses running when the tour ends to bring you back to town!!!

TAXIS/UBER
**IMPORTANT** Cayman does NOT have Uber or ride share programs. If you are going to hire a taxi to get to Rum Point, make sure they know to get you AFTER the tour. There are no taxis roaming the area. Keep in mind a taxi will charge you at least $150 USD each way.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

Meet Cayman Kayaks at Rum Point Club (Not Rum Point Club Residences)  

  • Allow 1.5 hours coming from Seven Mile Beach, as there is work traffic in the evening.

  • Look for the Rum Point barrels (picture on left) at the entrance of parking lot. Pull in, and come to the far-left side of the lot when facing the ocean.  Our Cayman Kayaks lime green jeep and kayak trailer will be parked. We also have a couple of standing signs at the meeting location as per picture. 

  • Rum Point Club has FREE PARKING

RENT A CAR

Renting a car is a fantastic opportunity to get out and explore the rest of the Island before the tour. Enjoy dinner along the way to Rum Point before the tour! 

HERTZ Grand Cayman will give Cayman Kayaks guests a 15% discount on car rentals. Simply visit their website www.hertzcayman.com  and input “Currensea” in the discount/promo code section to receive your discount. 

SHUTTLE/DRIVER SERVICE

Looking to have someone bring you to and from the tour? This discounted service is subject to availability. Let us know at the time of booking, if you need this service. 

  • For groups of 4 or less = $120 USD (this is the roundtrip cost for the group)

  • For groups of 5 or more = $30 USD per person ((this is the roundtrip cost)

You won’t find any cheaper driver on the island! Other taxi’s charge at least $150 USD one way. 

Please note this is NOT a private service. Once we confirm the pick up service, please note, the pick up time is strict and unfortunately if you are late for the pickup, the driver will leave without you and you will be charged.

WATER FERRY

The ferry is a fun and cost efficient option. However, they only run on certain days of the week.  **Important**  The ferry brings you to Kaibo, and our tour departs from Rum Point Club (NOT KAIBO).  Our team is happy to assist in getting you from Kaibo to Rum Point, BUT you MUST inform us at least one day’s notice, to ensure we arrange for our guides to come get you.

DRIVING Directions To cayman kayaks from Seven Mile Beach

Speed signs are in MPH

– Head South onto W Bay Rd. (keep the ocean on your right)
– Continue onto N Church St (drive through George Town)
– Continue onto S Sound Rd
– At roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Shamrock Rd (passing Hurley’s Grocery Store at Grand Harbour)
– (Get into far right lane) 
– Go through one round about (second exit)
– At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Shamrock Rd 
– Pass Countryside Shopping continue on Shamrock Rd
– Continue through Bodden Town Rd (ocean still on right)
– Pass the Light House Restaurant
– Turn left onto Frank Sound Rd (7-10 minutes)
– Follow road up a small hill (past Water Boys Liquor and the Esso Gas station) left bend onto N Side Rd
– Continue onto Rum Point Dr  (12-17 minutes)
– Road will force you to veer left  
– Take the immediate Right onto Sand Point Rd
– Rum Point parking will be on the right. Park in the parking lot- FREE
– Meet to the far left of Rum Point property when facing the ocean.
– Look for Cayman Kayaks lime green jeep and crew!

When coming from Seven Mile Beach allow 1.5 hour
