Introducing Nightshift, Cayman’s Only Electric Bioluminescent Boat Tour!
Enjoy the pristine beauty of nature without contributing to pollution. As darkness descends and the heavenly hosts make their debut, an enchanting dance of bioluminescence beneath the water surface begins.
Our state-of-the-art vessel is crafted not only to protect the fragile environment but also to elevate your comfort and experience.
From the top deck of the electric boat, be dazzled by a sky full of stars. Our skilled Naturalist will use a laser pointer to guide you through the constellations, planets, and galaxies! The narrated stargazing often steals the spotlight from the Bioluminescence. Once anchored in the bioluminescent bay, you’ll descend the stairs to the main level for the evening’s highlight. Seated just inches above the water’s surface between the hulls of the boat, you will be able to effortlessly interact with the bioluminescence using your hands and feet.
This carefully orchestrated excursion is designed with precision and purpose. Come witness nature in its most untouched form aboard Nightshift. With no engine noise or emissions, you’ll experience the natural world as it was meant to be.
“Anyone can bring you to play in the bioluminescence, but it’s Tom and his team’s passion for this natural phenomenon that really sets their tours apart.”
Upcoming Tour Dates
Our bioluminescent tours are based around the moon cycle each month. We only operate tours on the darkest nights of the month. If your desired date isn’t available, it might be sold out or not on the schedule because it is a date when the tours are not running due to the moon light.
October 20th – November 5th

What to Wear:
Wear attire you are comfortable to get wet in! You will wade through 1-2 feet of shallow, sandy water when boarding and disembarking. You’ll also get wet while seated on the observation deck as you interact with the bioluminescence. We recommend a towel and spare dry shorts for after the tour.
Hair & Body Lotions, Bug Repellents & Deodorants:
Chemicals from hair products, lotions, and bug repellents wash off into the sea, and end up trapped in the Bio Bay harming these microscopic organisms due to the low water exchange. The glowing creatures in the bay thrive because they are naturally trapped, allowing the bioluminescence to flourish. However, introducing pollution into the bay fouls the water and also becomes trapped. Pollutants trapped in the bay take longer periods of time to be washed out or break down and decompose. Please be respectful to the natural phenomenon. The ecosystem here is fragile and requires our careful stewardship!
You may apply bug repellent before the tour, but will not be permitted to bring bug repellents while out on the tour. The biting insects are on the beach at check in and do not follow us out on tour. These pests are more apparent at dusk.
Can We Swim?
You are allowed to swim at your own risk. Our company discourages swimming to prevent fouling the water and the risk of being stung by jellyfish. If you are determined to swim, do not bring bug repellents out on tour and ensure hair products and body lotions are washed off prior to tour departure. Wearing a rash guard and water shoes/socks are good preventatives.
Jellyfish Stings:
There is a higher risk of being stung by jellyfish if you swim. It may be very uncomfortable when stung depending on the individual and where on their bodies they get stung. This tour is ocean water and so there may be more risks than jellyfish for those who decide to swim. There may be spiny sea urchins, fire sponge, eels, sting rays & poisonous fish. For these reasons, swimming is not encouraged.
