Bioluminescence is the phenomenon where light or glow is created by a living creature by internal chemical reaction. Approximately 80% of all marine life creates bioluminescence to some degree. This is done to achieve different survival strategies which include mating, predator avoidance and feeding. When a particular species of plankton concentrates in very high numbers in rare areas around the world, the results are stunning.

This tour takes place on the darkest nights of the month when the moon has not risen or is new to avoid light pollution. The paddle to Bio-bay takes approximately 45 minutes and follows the sheltered coast line.

Once inside Bio-bay you will be amazed by natures fireworks. Limited availability, book early.
